Temp. Sr. EEO Training Specialist
Summary of Duties
This is a temporary position. Reporting directly to the Senior
Director, EEO/Diversity Initiatives, the Senior
EEO Training Specialist develop, deliver and coordinate all EEO,
Affirmative Action and Diversity training programs. Prepare detailed responses
to regulatory agency requirements; interprets Federal, State and Civil Rights
laws as well as personnel policies and procedures. Conduct mediations and intervention
services relating to conflict resolution at department and individual staff
levels; travel required within Metra’s 6-county region. Monitor the maintenance
of EEO budget records and spreadsheets. Maintain EEO training records for all
Metra employees. Plan, organizes, coordinate and direct immediate staff in the
area of EEO training & employee relations. Work on employee relations
matters. Compile statistical data to determine needs and ensure compliance with
federal, state and local EEO regulations. Responsible for department management
during Senior Director’s absence. Perform all other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the
organization.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related discipline OR in lieu of degree, any combination of education and experience in EEO/Human Resources that equal four (4) years.
- In addition to #1, must have a minimum of five (5) years of progressive work experience in EEO, Human Resources and/or related field.
- Two (2) years of professional training experience which includes conducting training needs assessment, plus demonstrated presentation skills.
- Must have strong business acumen with the ability to make sound business decisions in a fast paced work environment.
- Must be able to work independently and manage multiple projects on a daily basis.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of management, employees, external groups and/or organizations.
- Must have strong and effective oral and written communication skills, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of EEO laws including, but not limited to Title VII, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008, Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, and the Family and Medical Leave Act.
- Able to maintain neutrality, objectivity and sound judgment while maintaining confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Legal research and/or writing skills required.
- Willing to travel within Metra’s 6-county region.
