Programmer Analyst

Summary of Duties
Reporting directly to Application Development Manager, the Programmer Analyst will design, deploy, document, maintain, and support Metra’s application software. Prepare or assist with the preparation of computer programs to solve business problems. Review, analyze and change programs to reflect changes in business requirements or hardware operating system configurations. Codes and tests new computer programs and revises existing computer programs using a variety of program development tools on both mainframe and PC platforms. Responsible for providing queries, ad-hoc and special reports to user departments as required and assist users in the operation of existing or new systems and with problem determination and documentation. Prepares flowcharts, menus, records, data base specifications, user manuals and training materials. Perform other related duties as needed to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
§  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems with significant course work in a variety of programming languages and web development tools is required.
§  Proven participation in team developing projects and strong oral and written communication is required.
§  Must have excellent customer service skills, ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, handle multiple tasks and establish priorities.
§  Must be proficient in MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Access, Project, Access and Outlook.
§  Must have proficiency in web development using .NET technology.
§  Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
§  Experience with databases and applications, SQL, Forms, Reports, .NET, VB Script, Microsoft Project, and Windows OS preferred.
§  Certification in Microsoft development tools and Microsoft Office products preferred.
